WSK world series – final round (Africa)… reach Sharm El Sheiekh, Egypt  – next week

Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt (ATCE) witnessed today a press conference to announce the preparation of Ghibli Raceway international circuit to held the 3rd and final round of WSK world series (Africa) at the city of peace – Sharm El Sheikh – Egypt.

This press conference was headed by General Raouf Deghaidy- ATCE vice president, General Mohamed Hareedy – board member of Egyptian Federation of Motor Sport and Karting (EFMS), Hany Soufrakis – Chairman of Ghibli Raceway international and Mrs. Nariman Hassan – Vice president of Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA) …

By this occasion – press conference – a media announcement regarding the 3rd and final roundof WSK world series which will visit Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt for the first time and Africa as well.

More than 20 teams, 90 drivers, 250 mechanics and administrator, 50 international media reps. And also great numbers of officials … will gather in Sharm El Sheaik on Ghibli Raceway presenting a very attractive motor sport event to Egypt, Middle East and Africa as well.”Our previous coordination with PRB in organizing huge events as Rotax Max Challenge finals in 2004 and 2009 had gave us great experiences in organizing such huge international motor sport championships, also The WSK World Series stops off in Egypt where in Sharm El Sheikh there will be the 2010 Final round from Oct. 28th to 31 st. New challenges are expected in the four classes Super KF, KZ2, KF2 and KF3 where the leaders will be involved to block the pursuers” said, Hany Soufrakis.

” ATCE & EFMS are working on supporting such international motor sports championships in Egypt specially on Ghibli Raceway as it’s one of the most prestigious and international homologated Cuirct in the region” Said, General Hareedy – General Manager of ATCE and Board member of EFMS.

Also, Mrs. Nariman Hassan said: ” as ETA one of the most important tourism identities in Egypt, we keep supporting such events in all tourism and entertainments activities to drive Egypt for all to enjoy and to feel it’s beauty”.

Round 3: Sharm el Sheik (ET) WSK World Series first season will round off on the African continent. The Egyptian circuit in Sharm el Sheik, the Ghibli Raceway International is 1308 metres long and was built near the most exotic and exclusive tourist resorts, on the banks of the Red Sea. Rising on the south cape of the Sinai Peninsula, the place was built by Italian managers at the end of the eighties. Nowadays, it is the administrative centre of southern Sinai. The high-quality complex, supplemented constantly over the years, earned the Ghibli circuit the organization of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, an event of worldwide calibre, run for the first time in 2004 and rerun in the late 2009 season.

The circuit in Sharm el Sheik derives its name from Ghibli, namely the North African wind blowing at high speed from the Atlas Mountains. The whole complex was built adhering to the local architecture and enriches the major Egyptian resort with a further tourist facility.

The links between Sharm El Sheik and Europe are ever more frequent thanks to a great number of charter flights introduced to satisfy increasing demands, in addition to the scheduled usual flights. On the same grounds, meeting tourist modern needs, the port was upgraded to allow both private yachts and cruise liners to dock
